Orange Regional expands with new cancer center and office building

Fitness trail, open to all, is part of ‘The Future is Orange’ campaign

northern-homeMIDDLETOWN — Orange Regional Medical Center has completed a new office building and cancer center on its main campus in Middletown. Most outpatient services provided off-campus will move into the new buildings on the 73-acre campus in Middletown. Opened on September 26, the two buildings cost $99 million. Both the office building and the Spagnoli Family Cancer Center will be “patient-centered healing environments,” with advanced technology and “amenities” for patients and families, says Orange Regional.

Physician Office Building
The first two floors of the 153,000-square-foot physician office building will house an array of advanced diagnostic medical technology, including:

1.5 Tesla Wide-Bore Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Digital X-ray
Ultrasound
Nuclear medicine
Positron Emission Tomography
PET/CT and fluoroscopy

The Women’s Breast Center will feature all-3D mammography, advanced imaging for breast cancer detectionPre-surgical testing

The 26,000-square-foot cancer center will combine existing outpatient cancer therapy services, including:
Radiation oncology (True Beam and Rapid Arc Linear Accelerators)
Infusion therapy
Oncology exam rooms
Patient navigators
Clinical trials
Boutique/Appearance Center
Caring arts modalities (complementary therapies)
Healing garden

Eight hundred parking spaces have been added. The ORMC Foundation has funded a fitness trail, with outdoor exercise stations, as part of the $3.3 million “The Future is Orange” campaign, which is helping to fund the expansion. The walking and exercise path can be used by patients, families, and staff.

The Foundation also funded a viewing garden for infusion patients at the entrance of the new cancer center.

The single-story Spagnoli Family Cancer Center will be attached to the main hospital building. For more information, visit www.ormc.org.
