I am wondering if there is a way to make a cash donation anonymously to a coworker who has taken leave to care for her mother. She now has to pay for temporary lodging for a month near the hospital during her mothers recovery post surgery. Is there a way to make the donation tax deductible through an organization to go to an individual to assist with expenses? There are organizations that provide assistance to families of children with cancer, why not families with parents with cancer.

Hi, my husband has stage 4 colon cancer and he will be having surgery pretty soon at city of hope we live an hour and half away . His time in the hospital will be about 10 -12 days. I’m looking for some hotel that I can walk to hospital from my hotel . I’m not good with driving in new places and at night, I’m blind in one eye and being in a different city not knowing where anything is I get lost easy. My Daughter will also stay with me for support. I know about the hotel discount we stayed last week for 2 nights and was great. The problem is they are to far from hospital I need some place close so I don’t have far to go. And being that many days to be in a hotel is gonna run up a big bill I can’t pay. If you can help me with someone that can tell me where I can stay I would appreciate it. Thank you Melanie Hill.

Have you contacted any of the transportation companies on this page? That would be the next step I would also include Southwest in your list of possibilities.
Yes, I tried Southwest and they gave me a list of hospitals that gave grants, but all these programs are for children, and my son is 43 years old.
