Cancer Care
Intermountain Cancer Centers provide more cancer screening and treatment services than all other health systems in Utah combined. Our cancer centers treat all cancer types from detection and diagnosis to treatment and survivor support.
We have physicians specializing in every major cancer type, as well as nurses, social workers, dietitians and many other cancer experts. Each of these experts come together to determine the best treatment for each individual cancer diagnosis. This multi-disciplinary approach ensures each patient they are being treated with the latest evidence-based protocols providing the best outcomes. It also allows our patients to see their entire team of clinicians at the same time in one location.
Our cancer team is heavily involved in research and clinical trials to help find new treatment options and technologies for cancer care. Our patients can choose to be part of one of our numerous open clinical trials that are saving lives and improving cancer care across the world.

Emergency and Critical Care Services
In our emergency department we provide care for the most acute cases; severely injured and critically ill patients, as well as complicated cases or special circumstances that require extensive medical care. The Roy W. and Elizabeth E. Simmons Trauma and Emergency Center, located in the J.L. Sorenson Patient Tower, is strategically designed so the very best care can be provided to acute patients.
Emergency Department
More than 85,000 patients will come to Intermountain Medical Center’s emergency department each year. Some people call it the “Emergency Room,” but it is really a large and busy department. We have 56 beds, including four trauma bays.
Trauma Care
At our Level I Trauma Center, critically-ill and injured patients have immediate access to a specially-designed, specially-equipped trauma center, staffed by an experienced trauma team.
Shock Trauma and Respiratory ICU
These unique and nationally recognized intensive care units care for severely traumatized and critically ill patients referred throughout the Intermountain West.
Neuro Critical Care
As the only dedicated neurological intensive care unit in Utah with neuro intensivists on staff around the clock, we offer the best intensive care for patients with brain and spine related injuries.
