COMING SOON to CANCER HORIZONS
The Best Cancer Support Community On The Internet
At Cancer Horizons we receive emails and calls daily from cancer patients all over the country asking questions about our services and wanting advice on how to manage their unique situation. Well, we are not set up to assist all with this request so we are doing the next best thing. We are creating an Online Cancer Support Community which will provide the opportunity for our members to reach out to others with the same diagnosis and perhaps get some good advice or get a shot of courage in the process.
We will be inviting the over 100,000 cancer patients and caregivers currently following the Cancer Horizons website to take the next step and open an account where we would love to hear about your cancer journey. Each one is unique, each one is filled with moments of triumph and defeat, hope and discouragement but most importantly it is “YOUR CANCER STORY” We are firm believers that there are times that the only ones that truly understand how you are feeling is another cancer patient and specifically one that has been diagnosed with something similar to you. Just give us your contact info using the form on the right and you will be the first one invited to join when our cancer support community is ready to move into.
What Does Being Member Mean?
Your Cancer Journey is Uniquely Yours - Inspire Others By Telling It!
I was only five weeks pregnant with my youngest son. I had been called in to discuss thyroid nodule biopsy results. I knew it was bad when they said I had to come in.
While cuddling my two-year-old boy, I sobbed to the nurse, “Dammit Terry, you know that I know what this means!”
She said, “Yes, I know you do, but I’m not allowed to tell you.”
Do you know when it became real for me? Not when Terry called me. Not when my husband and I sat in the exam room. Not when the doctor said the biopsy was malignant. Not when the doctor freaked out when I said I was pregnant.
It was real for me when I walked across the parking lot after the appointment and called my mom.
When I said to her, “Momma, I have cancer.” That is when it became real for me.

Why Create A Cancer Community?
Even in outpouring of support; even while be surrounded by family and friends and doctors and nurses; we have felt alone.
And that, my dear friends, that feeling of being alone in the midst of chaos – is something that we can address.
As cancer patients, we have felt overwhelmed. We have felt bombarded by ridiculous levels of medical terminology that we never thought we would ever have to understand. We have been overwhelmed by the love and well meanings of our friends and family.
We have also felt that feeling of – you don’t get it. Wanting to scream at the well-meaning world, the platitudes.
Is Cancer Horizons Changing?
Our mission at Cancer Horizons is changing, not only to provide guidance to cancer patients and their caregivers with one of the largest directories of services and support services available online, but to become the go to place for these amazing people to receive support from an online cancer support community filled with great people that have had cancer or are currently being treated and willing to share what has helped them through their journey.
Don’t worry, the Cancer Horizons you have known will still be here. We still have one of the largest directories offering support, services, financial assistance, and specialized gifts for cancer patients on the internet. We will continue to bring you the latest on breaking developments in the oncology world.
But we want to offer so much more.
