Cancer Type – Breast

Bio –  Jane Fonda an American actress, writer, political activist, and former fashion model and fitness guru.

Short Story – Fitness guru faced a cancerous tumour at 72 (2010). She underwent surgery to remove the non-invasive tumour, and was declared cancer free.

Fonda had what was known as situ, cancerous cells that have not spread beyond the breast ducts or lobules.It accounts for about 20 per cent of new breast cancer cases and when treated quickly, the five-year ­survival rate is said to be 100 per cent.

Fonda remains cancer free. She is best known for selling millions of fitness videos in the 1980’s and 90’s.

She states, “I am lucky,” about her run-in with cancer and credits a routine checkup for the discovery.
