Cancer Type – Pancreatic
Bio – Sir John Hurt, the legendary late actor known for Elephant Man and Harry Potter, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2015.
Story – Known for his roles in films such as Alien, Harry Potter, and Midnight Express, the late, legendary actor passed at the age of 77. He remained steadfast since his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer in June 2015, reporting in October 2015, his cancer was in remission. He most recently starred in the Oscar-nominated film Jackie.
In an interview with The Telegraph out of the United Kingdom, he stated, “I have always been open about the way in which I conduct my life and in that spirit, I would like to make a statement. I have recently been diagnosed with early-stage pancreatic cancer. I am undergoing treatment and am more than optimistic about a satisfactory outcome, as indeed is the medical team. I am continuing to focus on my professional commitments and will shortly be recording Jeffrey Bernard Is Unwell (one of life’s small ironies!) for BBC Radio 4.”
He was diagnosed at the age of 75 and passed at the age of 77.
